For the Year 2007

The Gladys Brooks Foundation was created under the Will of
Gladys Brooks Thayer of New York. Its purpose is to provide for the intellectual, moral and physical welfare of the people of this country by establishing and supporting non-profit libraries, educational institutions, hospitals and clinics.

The grant making body of the Foundation is the Governing Board. As a matter of policy, the Foundation will make grants only to publicly supported, tax-exempt organizations. The Board follows the practice of determining at the beginning of each calendar year a limited scope of activities for which it will consider grant applications for that year.

In 2007 the Governing Board concentrated on grants to private not-for-profit publicly supported libraries, educational institutions, hospitals and clinics. The following institutions received major grant payments from the Foundation in 2007:
